This series on break ups it taking me to interesting places. The songs I looked into last week, are far different then the songs that I looked into this week. I never really thought about it but, there are vast reasons why people break up. We tend to focus on all the good and over look the bad, when we are in a relationship which can keep us in the relationship. Or when we are split when we focus on the good over the bad, we suffer. When we start to see more bad then good in a relationship, we question the relationships. Sometimes their is physical or emotional cheating or sometimes it’s timing and maturity.
Break-ups have become easier to me because I always feel that there are telling signs from the start whether to dig deep into a relationship or back away. Either way, we need to trust that we will ultimately find what we are looking. If we truly want the best for our self and the people we genuinely (not selfishly) care about, sometimes we need to surrender and accept that what’s best for our partner and sometimes our self may be past the relationship.
Just to See You Smile – Tim McGraw
You always had an eye for things that glittered
But I was far from being made of gold
I don’t know how but I scraped up the money
I just never could quite tell you no
Just like when you were leaving Amarillo
Takin’ that new job in Tennessee
And I quit mine so we could be together
I can’t forget the way you looked at me
Just to see you smile
I’d do anything that you wanted me to
When all is said and done
I’d never count the cost
It’s worth all that’s lost
Just to see you smile
When you said time was all you really needed
I walked away and let you have your space
‘Cause leavin’ didn’t hurt me near as badly
As the tears I saw rollin’ down your face
And yesterday I knew just what you wanted
When you came walkin’ up to me with him
So I told you that I was happy for you
And given the chance I’d lie again
Just to see you smile
I’d do anything that you wanted me to
When all is said and done
I’d never count the cost
It’s worth all that’s lost
Just to see you smile
Just to see you smile
I’d do anything that you wanted me to
When all is said and done
I’d never count the cost
It’s worth all that’s lost
Just to see you smile
