This weekend a bright yellowish-green butterfly calmly landed on my shoulder. It was a nice surprise that I wish I was able to capture in a picture.
A butterfly is a commonly used symbol of transformation. We tend to think of the outcome of the butterfly and it’s beauty, but rarely do we think about the exact transformation of the caterpillar. What did the caterpillar have to give up or let go of to become a butterfly? The answer…everything, it has to die, in order to be reborn and transform.
What in your habits or thoughts do you need to let die or let go of so that you can bring new energy into your life? BJ Miller’s TED Talk on “What Really Matters at the End of Life” is not only sound advice for those approaching death, but it can be applied to those who have years ahead of them. “From keeping up with your losses, so you are ready for the next moment ” to “beauty can be found anywhere,” listen to Mr. Miller’s talk and glean from it what you need, to revive any part of your life or soul that may be dead or dying.
Thank you! I sincerely appreciate your comment. 🙂
You are really inspiring.
