Tune Tuesday #19 – What the World Needs Now

Home is distinctly different each time I visit, because my intentions are different. I came home this weekend to be with my sister aka the doc student and her baby for Halloween and so I could rest. Her daughter is her first child and the first grand child and niece to our family. I am glad that life workout so that I could be here to experience these moments with them. I am also thankful for rest. My reflections which occur so naturally to me, has increased these past few weeks. I feel like all my improv classes have helped me with free association beyond creativity, but with humor and with personal reflection. One thought that I have can spur multiple memories or reflections. Yesterday’s Ambient News post came from an observation I made my first day in town. There is a quote about why people hurt each-other that has circled in my mind since I head it.

Even though our social issues are large and complex, we must address them and we can help at a micro-level. As complex as society is what is lacking is our openness to others outside of our comfort zone. Today’s Tune Tuesday come from Dionne Warwick, it is her song titled “What the World Needs Now.” We can undo a lot of harm by shining love where it is lacking. Sometimes love lacks within family, between friends and strangers and some times love is lacking from within. Go towards the places in your life that lack love and bring love to it. Lead with love and you can’t go wrong.

“What The World Needs Now” by Dionne Warwick

What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No, not just for some but for everyone

Lord, we don’t need another mountain
There are mountains and hillsides enough to climb
There are oceans and rivers enough to cross
Enough to last ’till the end of time

What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No, not just for some but for everyone

Lord, we don’t need another meadow
There are cornfields and wheat fields enough to grow
There are sunbeams and moonbeams enough to shine
Oh, listen, lord, if you want to know

What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No, not just for some, oh, but just for ever, every, everyone

What the world needs now is love, sweet love (oh, is love)
What the world needs now is love, sweet love (oh, is love)
What the world needs now is love, sweet love (oh, is love)

I appreciate your words. Thank you!
