It’s late Monday night. I’m still at work.
This weekend was the perfect balance of what rejuvenates me. I slept in and rested, got errands done, explored this new temporary city of mine and went to two theatre events.
While at dinner on Sunday night I thought, I’m happy.
A few weeks ago, my friend asked me what my goals are for the new year. I paused for a second, for the first time in years I didn’t have an answer. I was just trying to get through 2015.
After some thought, I realized I want to build my life around happiness.
I am the happiest I have ever been, but I know I could be happier if I could truly find balance between my work and my life. I have been able to balance my life outside of work, when I have taken time off, but I want to maintain that balance in the chaos.
Starting the year with the intention to build my life around happiness (based on the things that make me happy) has already shifted my life.
Today’s Mindful Monday I want us to think about your own happiness. We all seek happiness in life. Some of us seek things that we are told will make us happy, but don’t. Others have yet to define what happiness is to them. What is happiness to you, outside the judgement of others?
To me happiness is meditation, yoga, improv, writing, great conversations, good hearted, genuine people and helping others.
May today be an addition to or the start of your happiness.
Love – Steph
