It’s International Woman’s Day! Today is a special day that celebrates the strides woman have made from across the country and around the world.
We are living in a unique time in history where hidden cultures or subcultures and the challenges they face are coming to the forefront of human consciousness.
The broadening of the stage, to include at one time silent voices and silent histories, is celebrated by some. For others, this new awareness may be a challenge to accept. Your reality is expanding in away that can be unsettling. It may even feel like the power you have will be lost with the broadening of the stage.
Regardless of where you stand, a world that is based on love is a world that is equal across the board. There are enough resources and enough love in this world for everyone. We need to make conscious efforts to bridge any gaps and do our best to see the human in every person we encounter.
Today, I hope all women take a moment to reflect on the blessings of their life as a women. Express gratitude for the women in your family, life, the media or in history who have come before you and paved the way so that your life could be a little easier.
Express gratitude to your mentors, in meditation, in a letter or in person, for lighting your path or lighting the fire within.
If you are a mother celebrate the blessing of motherhood and give yourself credit for the daily work that you do for your children.
Above all, may you always know that you are beautiful and loved and know your personal power even in those moments were you struggle to find it.
Today’s song embraces the spirit of international woman’s day and the spirit of my meditation on love. To grow girls into strong woman, and for woman to own their personal power and voice, it all begins with self acceptance and self love.
