I have recommitted myself to the habit of working out daily. Thus far, I have only been able to work out 2-3 times a week, because of my schedule. But, I celebrate the fact that started the habit. I am enjoying working out and I have extended the amount of time I work out, which makes a difference in how my body feels.
As I worked out recently I noticed that my shoes caused discomfort.
I remember my sister always told me that you are only supposed to use your shoes for a certain number of miles before they wear down.
That same day I bought a new pair of shoes and my feet felt the difference as soon as I tried them on. I am thankful for my new shoes because my feet were supported again and I was able to purchase them when I needed them.
As I enjoyed my shoes, I started to think about how easy it was for me to get rid of my old pair. Then I thought about life. When we have walked a certain number of miles/ years; we acquire emotional baggage or negative thoughts but rarely do we let them go as easily. We often tend to wear the shoes out until the pain hurts too much or get so used to the pain that it becomes our way of life. If only life, were as simple as buying new shows.
Life is simple. For life to get simple you must realize what you deserve and assert it to yourself and others. You could change the way you think about yourself, go back to school, get divorced, quit your job, write your book or take any risk towards your wildest dreams. Who knew that something as simple as running shoes could carry so much wisdom.
Have a great day.
