Mindful Monday #119 – Be Overcome By Light

I can not believe the world we are living in at this moment.

So much is changing in the world, there is building tension at a domestic and international level, plus a surplus of voices either aid or inhibit important discussions that seek to solve real issues, others don’t feel heard or feel ignored and it’s all happening at once and at a rapid rate.

It can be hard to digest at times.

It sometimes feels like an illusion that things are moving forward in a positive direction for humanity.

Life has always had duality.

I don’t know when we allowed darkness to over power our collective light. It was a gradual shift and like Billy Joel said “we didn’t start the fire, it was always burning since the world’s been turning”.

However, we have forgotten how to be cordial and respectful to each other in daily interactions. Some carry around a Pierre “I don’t care” attitude and speak or act before they think about who might get hurt in the process. There are several examples of this that plays out on our media and social media daily. It’s all disheartening.

There is hope.

There is more light, love and good in this world than darkness. Light always cast out darkness. We need to remember our individual light (good) especially during these challenging times.

Besides being a light, we need to spread our light with words of compassion and speak up with words of love for the ills that we see in our neighborhoods.

Change can begin with you.

Today’s Mindful Monday Quote regards the light that we need to re-ignite, shine bright and spread to heal the world of all the pain and suffering.
