I don’t know what Tuesday holds for us?
If it is anything like how 2016 election night was and the despair felt among many populations, we need to brace ourselves.
Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I never thought I’d say that in a blog that is meant to be positive and up lifting. Like a parent that needs to balance preparing their kids for the world, at the same time teaching them how to dream and hope, I must do the same.
We are in turbulent times. I never thought’d we get here, but this is where we find ourselves. Among what feels like darkness to many, I see so much light and lessons for us to learn as a people.
All that we have been avoiding and turing a blind eye to is front and center. It is the time for us to have civil, honest conversations about the uncomfortable topics.
Nothing in life, that is worth anything was provided to you in your comfort. It’s discomfort that causes us to see areas where we need to grow.
And we as a country, get to see these areas of future growth together.
We get to see things through together. The life that I have walked these past three years, prepared me for this moment. I am a natural leader and was nurtured all throughout high school and college to lead. A betrayal in an organization I gave so much time and energy toward, in college, brought me to retreat. I needed to heal and learn to trust again. I have not held a huge leadership role since college.
Finding my voice has shown me how much my voice and perspective have been needed this whole time. We are here as a nation because, I didn’t speak when I saw things going in a direction that wasn’t for the greater good. I don’t carry the entire burden on my shoulder, I just acknowledge my part in what got us to this point. What is your part? How can you be or do differently tomorrow? How can you bring light to areas of your community that only you can shed light on and fulfill?
There are so many people that want to do big, great things. To get to that place, you need to start somewhere. This moment, where there is so much fear, anger and conflict is a place where YOU can start. My life has prepared me for this moment. I don’t feel ready, but no one ever feels ready when their high calling comes knocking at their door.
When you face your higher calling, you must respond and God/Spirit/Universe will meet you there and fill the ‘perceived’ gaps of who you feel you need to be. First, you need to rise up.
My silence has hindered me in many ways and it has hindered the world.
What I have been wanting to tell you, my friends, I will never be silent on you again. I will continue to spread love and be light in areas that darkness has occupied. This is my higher calling and it brings joy to my heart.
My wish for you, is that you see how you can do your part in creating a life sustaining change for the voiceless, vulnerable and humanity at large.
Today’s tune talks about the personal empowerment and creating the needed change so that you are not” idled with despair”. Don’t worry, “cause worry is wasteful and useless in times like these.”
“We are never broken.”
Hands by Jewel
It would be that we’re all ok
And not to worry because worry is wasteful
And useless in times like these
I will not be made useless
I won’t be idled with despair
I will gather myself around my faith
For light does the darkness most fear
But they’re not yours they are my own
But they’re not yours they are my own
And I am never broken
But it didn’t steal your laughter
And heartache came to visit me
But i knew it wasn’t ever after
For someone must stand up for what’s right
Cause where there’s a man who has no voice
There ours shall go singing
But they’re not yours they are my own
But they’re not yours they are my own
And I am never broken
In the end only kindness matters
I will get down on my knees and I will pray
I will get down on my knees and I will pray
But they’re not yours they are my own
But they’re not yours they are my own
And I am never broken
But they’re not yours they are my own
But they’re not yours they are my own
And I am never broken
We are never broken
We are God’s eyes God’s hands God’s heart
We are God’s eyes God’s hands God’s eyes God’s hands
We are God’s hands God’s hands We are God’s hands
With deep love,
Stephanie – XO
