Tune Tuesday #41 -Love Fearlessly

These days it feels like the world is little darker, colder and on edge.

It feels as though we have forgotten that our neighbors are not strangers, but our brothers and sisters.

It feels like we have forgotten that we are a web of stories, histories and experiences that at first glance appear to divide us. When we look at the heart and essence of each others lives, stories, pains and sufferings, our differences vanish and we see our humanness connects all of us.

We are always connected, even in those moments when we feel disconnected and alone.

For the past two years, during the month of February, I mediated on love. Last year I asked love to teach me what I don’t know.

What I learned is that pure, unconditional love surrounds everyone of us. We may not always see it or feel it, but it has always been there. It’s that same unconditional love that created us and lives inside each of us.

It is we who chose to love conditionally. If we loved unconditionally we would heal not only our wounds, but heal others wound too. It would be easier for us to forgive and forget. We would no longer hold anger over those who have hurt us. Nor would we would create pain or suffering to others as a result of our own pain.

While life, outside of us, feels shaky, we are called to go inward and heal ourselves first. Only when we heal ourselves can we then extend beyond ourself to help others heal.

You are not broken, but perhaps deeply wounded? Or re-wounding yourself with the retelling of your pains and sufferings to yourself and others. Now is the time to transcend your pain and heal it with your own unconditional love.

Life by it’s nature restores and regenerates. This is why our bodies mend and heal our broken bones, cuts and bruises. The wounds that go the deepest are emotional wounds. Shine love on the sore spots of your heart and soul.

Love heals and through love and compassion, you can heal yourself whole. Take back any power you have given to anyone who has hurt you and love fearlessly.

Today’s Tune speaks to the seed of love that grows wherever it is planted.

Love – Stephanie XO

The Rose – By Bette Midler

Some say love, it is a river that drowns the tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love, it is a hunger an endless aching need
I say love, it is a flower and you, it’s only seed

It’s the heart, afraid of breaking that never learns to dance
It’s the dream, afraid of waking that never takes the chance
It’s the one who won’t be taken who cannot seem to give
And the soul, afraid of dying that never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snow
Lies the seed that with the sun’s love, in the spring becomes the rose

I appreciate your words. Thank you!
