“We may know what a healthy relationship may look like, but most people have no idea how to get one. And no one teaches us how to do so.” Joanne Davila states in today’s Wisdom Wednesday video titled “Skills for Healthy Romantic Relationships”.
We teach people how to have a good relationship often when it is too late, either right before a couple gets married or during couples therapy when the relationship is strained.
Ms. Davila created a “skills based model of relationship functioning.” Insight, Mutuality, and Emotion Regulation are three skills sets: that can help people in what she call “romantic competence”.
Whether you are single, newly single, coupled or married watch to see if their is any wisdom you can apply to your relationship.
