Last week was challenging. I had an aha moment last Tuesday night, that I did not give the full space it needed to breathe.
I woke up the next day to a new aha moment, which demanded immediate attention and expression. My Wednesday was spent being gentle to myself, slowing down and taking it easy.
In school, I learned a few body work techniques from Cranial Unwinding to Polarity and as a result, I know how energy feels in the body in a “client” (fellow student since I am learning) and myself. For the first time, I felt energy wanting to move via emotion and physical body movement. I did gentle yoga poses in the morning and ended the day with a yin class.
I am so grateful for this time in my life, because everything is coming together poetically.
I am finding beauty in life in the small, the light (joy) and the dark (struggle, sadness, grief). I see a level of beauty in myself that I never knew I had. Doubts about where I am headed are slowly fading. My strength is grounding and softening with my femininity. I feel so empowered, clear and aligned with my purpose.
Today’s song was released in August 2018, but I heard it for the first time this week. I feel the song is the universe speaking to me and the journey that brought me to this moment. This song feels like a good theme song for this time in my life. For anyone who wishes to own their strength, may this song serve as your mantra.
Today celebrate what makes you, you. In all your beauty, courage, knowledge and power. Don’t apologize for the journey or the lessons you embody. Simply, find strength in them, own them and wear them (in your mind) as your boy/ girl scout badge of honor.

Might Not Like Me by Brynn Elliott
You broke up with me and for the life of me
I couldn’t figure out what I did wrong
I’m so sorry, I’m usually the first one
To admit that I did wrong
Get over yourself, it’s no big deal
If I run a little faster than you on the playground
Get over yourself, what’s your problem
What’s your problem?
Well if you don’t like girls that are stronger than you
And if you don’t like girls that are faster than you
And if you don’t like girls that are smarter than you
Well then you might not like me
You might not like me
We had chemistry and you’re one that got away
And I’ll never forget you
You were beautiful, you were perfect as you were
And I didn’t want to fix you
Get over yourself, it’s no big deal
If I swim a little faster than you in the neighbor’s pool
Get over yourself, what’s your problem
What’s your problem?
Well if you don’t like girls that are stronger than you
And if you don’t like girls that are faster than you
And if you don’t like girls that are smarter than you
Well then you might not like me, you might not like me
And if you don’t like girls that are tougher than you
And if you don’t like girls more darin’ than you
And if you don’t like girls braver than you
Well then you might not like me
You might not like me
You might not like me
You might not like me and that’s fine by me
Boy, lay down your pride
Wipe that tear from your eye
I’ll take you back, I’ll take you back
Boy, lay down your pride
Wipe that tear from your eye
I’ll take you back, I’ll take you back, boy
Well if you don’t like girls that are stronger than you
And if you don’t like girls that are faster than you
And if you don’t like girls that are smarter than you
Well then you might not like me, you might not like me
And if you don’t like girls that are tougher than you
And if you don’t like girls more darin’ than you
And if you don’t like girls braver than you
Well then you might not like me
You might not like me
You might not like me
You might not like me and that’s fine by me
