Tune Tuesday #57 – Smile

I live in a state where face masks are suggested, but not required and social distancing is implied, but not enforced.

Regardless of what my state does or doesn’t do, I am listening to the medical experts and following their advice. So, I have been wearing a face mask for the past three weeks. The mask was hand made and is a vibrant blue. I am getting used to wearing it too.

One day when I was out at the store, I thought to myself, I can’t smile at people anymore because my mouth is covered. A little later, I realized you can still smile at people, even if you wear a face mask.

How?

You can hear a smile on the phone, because the tone of your voice changes when your smile. You can see a smile on someones face, even when you can’t see their mouth, because their is a slight change in their eyes. You can also Smize – which is smiling with your eyes.

Today’s tune is a gentle reminder to remember to smile. Smiling can help change your move from sad to happy. It can effect people around you and create connection.

Today’s song, “Smile,” by Nat King Cole reminds to smile even if we are sad, your heart is breaking or when you have fear or sorrow.

Have a great day.

Smile by Nat King Cole

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near

That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what’s the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what’s the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

I appreciate your words. Thank you!
