Tune Tuesday #7 – Don’t Lose Your Grip on Your Dreams

For as long as I can remember I have experienced the phenomenon of people (friends, strangers and acquaintances) opening up to me and telling me deep secrets and pains upon initial encounters with me. I don’t know why, but I started to accept these encounters when I choose this leap of faith towards writing and motivational speaking. Recently a high school friend, who I have not see in over 10 years opened up to me via social media and told me that she is having mid-life crisis. There was no hi, hello how are you? It’s was just a confessional filled with so much doubt on choices that she made or didn’t make. I have not responded to her yet, because I don’t know what to tell her. In thinking of today’s Tune Tuesday, a seemingly random songs says all of what she needs to hear.

Eye of the Tiger – Suvivor

Risin’ up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance
Now I’m back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don’t lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

[Chorus]
It’s the eye of the tiger
It’s the thrill of the fight
Risin’ up to the challenge
Of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he’s watching us all with the
Eye of the tiger

Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin’ tough, stayin’ hungry
They stack the odds
Still we take to the street
For the kill with the skill to survive

[Chorus]

Risin’ up straight to the top
Had the guts, got the glory
Went the distance
Now I’m not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive

[Chorus]

The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger
